Kitchen Party

Down East Kitchen Party

A Grey Cup tradition powered by passion, pride, and one man’s commitment.

The Down East Kitchen Party stands as a celebration of Atlantic Canada — a place where fans from every CFL team gather, share stories, and raise a glass together. Even without a team on the field, the Schooners have built a legacy rooted in community, pride, and the belief that Atlantic Canada belongs in the CFL conversation.

A Tradition That Keeps the Dream Alive

1996 — The Schooner Flag Rises Again

John Ryerson begins championing the Atlantic Schooners at Grey Cup events, determined to keep the dream of CFL expansion alive.

2006–2015 — The Party Goes Coast to Coast

The Schooners’ event drops anchor in cities across Canada, growing in popularity each year. Fans begin referring to the Schooners Party as “Switzerland” — the neutral ground where supporters of all CFL teams gather as one community.
